ANU College of Arts & Social Sciences signs Memo of Understanding with the National Film and Sound Archive

The ANU College of Arts & Social Sciences (CASS) and the National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA) have signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate the establishment of closer collaborative arrangements between NFSA and CASS by setting out a framework for future collaboration between the two organizations.

JG Crawford Prize winners named

Dr Christina Parolin is one of the recipients of the 2009 JG Crawford Prize.  Christina Parolin completed her winning thesis Radical Spaces: Venues of Popular Politics in London 1790-c.1845 in the Humanities Research Centre, within the Research School of the Humanities and the Arts, in 2009.

The annual award is given to the two people who completed the best PhD theses.

The JG Crawford Prizes were established in 1973 to recognise Sir John Crawford’s outstanding contributions to the University, during his five years as Vice-Chancellor and as Director of the Research School of Pacific Studies for the preceding seven years.

Exhibition - 2009 ANU H C Coombs Creative Arts Fellow

Michael Callaghan is the recipient of the ANU H C Coombs Creative Arts Fellowship 2009, administered by the Research School of Humanities & the Arts in association with the ANU School of Art.
 
His most recent body of work, created as the H. C. Coombs Creative Arts Fellow at the School of Art, ANU, is concerned with the war in Iraq. Focusing on the doublespeak of the ‘war on terror’ and in particular the issues it brings to bear on human rights.
 
The exhibition runs from 7 - 29 May at the ANU School of Art Gallery, Ellery Crescent, Acton. 10.30am - 5pm Tuesday - Friday, Noon - 5pm Saturday.
