Barry Jones opens the Antarctica exhibition at ANU's Drill Hall Gallery as part of CHCI 2012

The Hon. Dr Barry Jones AO opens the 'Antarctica' exhibition at the ANU Drill Hall Gallery as part of International Consortium of Humanities Centres and Institutes conference 2012 Annual Conference on 'Anthropocene Humanities'. 

The exhibition has been conceived to complement the 2012 CHCI conference on the Humanties and Climate Change, which is being convened by the Australian National University Research School of the Humanties and the Arts.  The conference explores the effect of the agency of human beings on the Earth's ecosystems and our complex and challenging future.

Professor Leanne Hinton gives this talk entitled Reclaiming indigenous languages: The Master-Apprentice Language Learning Program for endangered languages' at The Australian National University on 28 March 2012.

Professor Hinton is a Visiting Fellow at the Australian National Dictionary Centre and Professor Emerita at University of California, Berkeley.

ANU and Chamber come together on music

On 18 May 2012, the University announced that discussions are underway to build a consortium to help put the ANU School of Music, and music more generally in the ACT, on a financially sustainable footing.

The University will be working with the ACT and Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry to form the consortium. The Chamber’s Chief Executive, Dr Chris Peters, is a passionate advocate for arts funding in the region.
