The Research School of Humanities and the Arts (RSHA) provides a world class environment for undergraduate and graduate study. The RSHA attracts and retains a high number of academics and scholars of great distinction and productivity in the fields of Archaeology, Anthropology, English, History, a range of Languages and Linguistics disciplines as well as Music (Performance, Musicology and Practice) and the Visual Arts. Students and graduates have the opportunity to work with the leaders in their fields and to be advised by the authors of the standard reference works in their area.

The RSHA also administers a unique program of interdisciplinary graduate study:
- Liberal Arts graduate coursework program: including Museums & Collections, Visual Culture Research, Cultural and Environmental Heritage, and Writing, World Histories and Lives.
